Lever-Action Leather Stock Wrap Kits: Dress a Marlin 1895 Yourself

A lever-action wrap kit is different: it's leather you lace permanently around the stock and forend to add grip, protect the wood, and give a plain rifle a custom, old-west look. Our Lever-Action Leather Cover Kits are made to do exactly that — and to do it without a single tool from a leather shop.

Each kit ships ready to lace:

• Pre-cut leather pieces with pre-punched lacing holes, sized to the rifle you select so the pieces line up the first time.
• Two large-eye stitching needles for the lacing.
• Heavy-duty Ritza 25 "Tiger" thread — a German-made bonded polyester thread used by serious leatherworkers because it doesn't fray and won't rot.
• 3M two-sided adhesive strips to hold the leather in place while you lace.

We build the kits for big-loop lever guns like the Marlin 1895 in .45-70, the Marlin 1894, and similar Henry and Winchester platforms.

Set the adhesive, wrap the pre-cut piece around the stock or forend, line up the punched holes, and lace it with the Tiger thread using the two needles in a simple saddle stitch. Most people finish a stock and forend in an evening, and the result looks like it came from a custom shop because the leather and the thread are the same we use on our made-to-order gear.
