Fitting a Leather Holster to Your Pistol: Bond Arms, Staccato & 1911

Three pistols, three different holsters

A Bond Arms derringer, a Staccato C2, and a full-size 1911 could not be more different in shape — and no single holster fits all three well. That's the whole point of a custom-molded holster: it's built around the geometry of one specific pistol so it covers the trigger, holds the gun, and draws clean. Here's how we approach each.

Bond Arms: small gun, specific carry

Bond Arms pistols (the Cyclops, Stinger, and the various Bond Arms models) are compact, heavy for their size, and carry best in a rig designed for them — which is why our Sidewinder cross-draw holsters are so popular for them. A cross-draw rides comfortably and presents the small frame for a clean grip. We mold to the specific Bond Arms barrel length (2.5", 3", 4.25" Cyclops, etc.) because even an inch changes the fit.

Staccato C2: the optic changes everything

The Staccato C2 is a popular carry 2011, and many are optic-ready with a red dot mounted. A holster molded for a bare slide won't clear the optic. We build Staccato C2 holsters with an optic cut so the red dot clears on the draw and the holster still retains properly. If your C2 wears an optic, tell us the model — it's not an afterthought, it's part of the mold.

1911: a classic that rewards a real holster

The 1911 has been carried for over a century, and it deserves leather that respects that. Whether it's a 5" Government, a 4.25" Commander, or an officer's-size frame, the holster is molded to that barrel length and to features like a beavertail or an ambi safety. A well-molded 1911 holster carries the gun flat and secure and lets the thumb find the safety on the draw.

What we need to build yours

For any holster, we need three things: the make, model, and barrel length, whether it wears an optic or light, and your carry style and hand (IWB, OWB, cross-draw; right or left). With that, we mold to your exact setup. Not sure what's right? Email us your gun and how you carry, and we'll recommend a rig before you order. More about how we build.
